" @Jeust said:Hummm though i don't have the xbox 360 all that long... i had a problem with a ps2... and by reading various articles i reached the conclusion that the life cycle for the ps2 isn't all that long too. 3-4 years, the warranty ends and then the trouble start..." @jakob187 said:My Sega Mega Drive still works, as does my SNES, N64, both Gamecubes, Gameboy, Gameboy Colours, Gameboy Advances and for that matter Xbox. It is about failure rate, not that everything will eventually fail. The 360 has a completely unacceptable failure rate and far beyond anything the game console market has EVER seen (including the PS2). "" I hate to say it, but aside from the RRoDs and E74s and random breakage that the 360 suffers from, it is an amazing fucking console. Great online infrastructure, great catalogue of games, great multimedia potential, great LAN support, and hell...they still have games that are four-player split-screen!!!And every console craps out eventually, in a matter of a few years, so hardware isn't at all less relient. "So...I can absolutely see why it's the go-to console for not just GiantBomb, but for most other game websites as well. = D"
The ps3 have some problems of their own too.
So the point is that no hardware bullet proof... sooner or later you're bound to have problems with it.
