The original Xbox seemed like an impenetrable tank to me. The 360 is more fragile than the Wii, on the other hand, which does make certain sense (Nintendo crash-tests theyir consoles, I swear), but still.
It wasn't really just the 360. The annoyances of Vista helped make me see ill of them.

I think Microsoft is shaping up to be the next leader of the gaming industry. I will say thats its pretty shitty about the hardware failures but even that is overly inflated by the internet. Actually I bet its all the people wrapping 360's in towels to overheat them that makes the repair/return procedure so bad. In the end, lets not forget that they all have had growing pains. Just look at poth the ps1 and ps2. God there was so much wrong with those consoles. I still remember putting my ps1 upside down ontop of a fan just so it wouldent skip and my ps2 was open more then a 7-11.

I'm way more negative than I was previously, and I was pretty negative towards them anyway.
Yes, the 360 is the most popular console right now, but that doesn't change the fact they screwed over their consumers with shoddy hardware. They knew the only chance they had of toppling the brand recognition of Playstation was to release their console earlier and cheaper, and look where it has got us.
Just because they've got the most games and are currently the de-facto standard system doesn't mean Microsoft are any less sleazy and underhand than they ever have been.
I also think that their gaming division has set itself up for a massive fall when it finally releases a new system because all the RROD stories are going to come back up and people will be worried about adopting early. Long term, they've shot themselves in the foot by screwing people over. Even the people who think they're marvellous right now are not going to be foolish enough to get burnt twice.
That said, who cares? Microsoft sucks. Sony sucks. Nintendo sucks. None of these companies have ever done anything but suck and do dumb things. They're all pretty low in my estimation.

I still like Microsoft just fine despite my complete distaste for anything they do anymore outside of their OSs. I like the 360 and all, but the menu system is retarded [to me] and the system as a whole has only one or two games I will play on it every year. I, however, will hold on to my loyalty to Microsoft (especially when it comes to PC stuff - it's like I'm the only person in the world who loves Vista) because that's how I roll. I'd rather stay loyal and hope to be vindicated than change allegiances when someone else comes out with something shiny.
