Microsoft randomly gave me MS points...?

I havn't played my 360 in probably a month but I was checking my email today and noticed I had an email saying 220 points had been successfully added to my account, this was from like 3 weeks ago. Was this something everyone got or did I just get free Microsoft monoply money?

Ive never seen anything like it, and I dont think 220 is a value you can add (on XBL at least I think its in 500 point incriments but on zune is it 80? Even then thats 240 points).

That is really strange, did the email not contain any other information? First I'd check on the actual 360 to make sure the point are there, it could just be a bogus email or a scam or some sort. Perhaps you won a contest or a share of some points, as you cannot buy points in 220 increments it is very unlikely...or impossible that you bought those points or that somebody on your account bought those points.

I might be crazy but I think there have been instances in the past when Microsoft issued points out to customers as a way for making up for some kind of problem, but I'm pretty sure nothing like that happened in the last three months or so.

Like HatKing said, you should first check to see if you even actually have 220 microsoft points, and if you do, try googling it to see if there was any kind of news stories on why that might have happened.

Yeah I have the points, its weird since that isn't a value you can add. Also the the email was a Microsoft email not the typical Xbox Live email when you actually purchase points. Strange, I havn't even had issues with the service in a very long time. As I said I havn't even been using my 360 lately either.

I was about to make a topic about this. Was the email about Rewards Squad? They said I have 100 free points for taking a servery, but I still don't have them. They said I'll receive more points monthly for the next 6 months.
