"No. My argument is not singularly "avatars are retarded" or anything like that. My assertion is that they're lying. You're using a PR guy saying what people want to hear as some kind of evidence. My assertion that they are *lying* still has legs.

It's broken because you don't know that the Avatars are Mandatory, infact the only thing we've been told was from Major Nelson who specifically stated that they were not mandatory and that we could still use our gamerpics. I'll find a link if you don't believe me.

That's only one part of my argument anyway- and this entire thread is speculation until the date we all get the dashboard. You don't know they're NOT mandatory, and like I said- it's not like Microsoft would tell everybody they were scrapping gamerpictures earlier then they would have to. So the argument still stands.

I meant you are coming off as a hater, maybe not a fanboy but a hater to this whole new thing. I know it does suck but its not THAT bad. Avatars are a complete rip off in so many ways. In fact I could even make a thread on how Avatars=Miis/Home, Lips=SingStar, 'Newton'=Wiimote/SIXAXIS, New XBL vision camera game=Eye Toy/PS Eye.

Stuff like that, they are rorally ripping everything they see in Sony and Nintendo that is casual, and slapping it on 360. :\ But the update isn't as bad as you make it out to be.

haha i love how people keep saying that Microsoft is copying Home with the avatar system an the Live party system.
why hasnt sony released home yet? if microsoft has been copying then shouldnt the competition have something out for them to copy?
no doubt that it is a Wii Mii copy but it cant be called an Home Avatar copy

It most definitely can. So something has to be out for someone to copy it? OK thats like saying the SIXAXIS didn't copy the Wiimote at all since the Wiimote wasn't out yet. nice logic?

And thousands of people have been using it for more then a year now (like me), so its out there not only in development. Being the beta myself I can tell you its 100% fact that they are copying Home, not only in avatars (even used the same name lmfao), but in the new game show things which Sony had since before August of 07, game launching as well as streaming content and whatnot. It's really obvious to me, I guess that helps since I can testify for both sides more so.
