Those aren't themes, only the GoW one is a theme. The others are what you see when looking at the games profile, but its not YOUR 360's theme. Exactly like when on the XMB and you hover over a game, the background changes with an image/theme of that game, but its not your consoles set background.

The Gears theme looks sweet, better then plain, but it looks too washed out, needs to be more visible IMO.

Same here, maybe they added a background to them? Who knows, we'll see. Not EVERY title will have one though, so some will be left with a white screen no doubt.

Yeah of course. Every PS3 game has one, and an animated icon. Even shitty games like Surfs Up or something, lol. But ever future title on the 360 will have this, for sure.

Yeah. A nice feature, but I think all the games should have it, just to be fair. Some might not get ones because of laziness from the dev team.

I like the feature on the PSP. It plays a little preview video where the "launch game" icon should be, and has a nice background in the well, background.

I'm not really all that fussed, whilst i like the look of the new Dashboard, I think it looks less cluttered and easier to use, the Avatars have no positive affect on me at all, it is just carbon copying what has proven popular on the Wii and trying to steal some of the Wii's thunder by implementing a variation on Mii's.

Still as long as i can play my games and it doesn't interrupt that, then thats dandy.

Edit: Besides, you know the Avatars will be awful as Rare are making them, they've done nothing good since Banjo Tooie :/

Nah, if PS3 gets one for every title, even horrible games, then I am pretty sure the 360 devs will put one there too.

when they show us slides of the new interface with those bland avatars, it does look like it will suck but just think about it, right now, xbox 360 is the console that is the most fun to use ... thats what the xbox 360 has going for it.... (if they didnt have that, their hardware problems would have completely destroyed them)

now do you think that they will change the interface to make it less fun ? less practical ? less appealing?

Im sure those guys made their home work and this is a step towards a bigger goal. the new guys in the driver seat at xbox arent the ones that made the shitty hardware, they are the guys hired to correct everything ...

it looks like crap right now, but in reality its not even done yet ... E3 must have been them testing the waters for peoples reactions...

in the end, when this update hits Xbox Live, Im pretty sure that you Xbox Experience will be either almost the same with some newness that you wont care about OR way better !!! either way ... its not like they will take away features ...

and the ones who are complaining about their themes ans gamerpics... You guys are out of your minds ! the only Gamerpics/theme I bought was by mistake ... who would pay for that ... by buying that , you support nickel and diming gamers for every little thing... I ony got the free stuff ... I dont care about those things ! play some games instead ....

I think the reaction they got was mostly positive, except for those stuped ass Mii's for the Xbox 360.
Imo it looks alright now, i only focus on the games and do everything else on my comp.
Personally i think its gonna be great.

Same here, most people don't like it but they will get used to it.

And MS is heading toward the casual shit now, with Lips (SS clone), Avatars, The Eye Toy rip off game, as well as changing the look of the platform.

Trying to go the path of Wii I guess.

But do you notice Sony doing so? I sure don't, they already have with stuff like Buzz and SingStar, as well as the PS Eye/Eye Toy, but going as far to change the whole system for it, I don't think we would ever see.
