Tonight my xbox one started making a grinding noise whenever I insert or eject a disc, it still reads discs fine though. It has been perfectly fine before now, it has not been moved since I bought it and it has plenty of ventilation. What do you guys recommend?

My roommate had the same problem. He sent it off and they fixed it for him and only took a week or so.

@finaldasa: yeah it's defiantly not normal. I'll call the shop I got it from tomorrow and they will replace it, I'm just nervous that they will say that because it still works they won't replace it.

@pompouspizza: Try Microsoft. My roommate's still worked but got progressively worse. And really it only effected his Blu-Rays. They still replaced/fixed it and even paid for the shipping. Wouldn't hurt to ask them.

Grinding is not normal. That means friction, and that means wear and tear. It could work for a long time to come but chances are the life span is significantly lowered. They have to fix it. They wont tell you no.
