For some reason the headset shipped with the original Xbox One was always too quiet. I could hardly ever make out what people were saying. I just sold my Xbox One a while back and bought an Xbox One S and have no options mic wise (it didn't come with a mic). I've tried using the headphones I have, but they don't seem to work. They make this annoying screeching sound.

Anyway, what mic would you guys recommend. I don't care about hearing gameplay through the mic, honestly I'd rather hear it through the speakers. I just want a mic that lets me hear my teammates clear in Halo 5 multiplayer.

Ended up preordering this one for $40.

I really like my Hyper X's. The one thing is the chord is super long so I had to roll it up and clip it so I din't have a long chord tangling up on me when I'm hardcore gamin.

@wolverine: I've heard Turtle Beach is a good brand. I've used Astro A40s for a few years now and they've been great, but they are pretty overpriced.

yea the one that comes with the system seems low, I suggest staying away from the microsoft branded high end set as Ive had two and they both shorted out on me, then again i just have terrible luck with headsets I went throught like six on the 360
