@the_laughing_man: None of those companies have access to the systems MS does just by virtue of MS running the systems.
Amazon has access to data stored in EC2, which is big, but it's not a lot of personal information, email, etc. It is used by some companies for call recording (we use EC2 on occasion to record calls that might be pertinent in legal situations, but not all calls).
Apple's access is dwarfed by MS', although they do obviously have access to any email/texts/calls that come through their phones (for the record, Apple freaks me out, too, but for different reasons).
Facebook's access is limited to people who are willing or too lazy to prevent them from having access. You have a choice whether or not you will share information with their systems. I closed my own Facebook account about a year ago, not because I was sharing anything with them that I was worried about, but because it's just kind of dumb.
Now that I think about it tho, any of the big internet portal providers probably have access to most if not all of the same data MS does just due to their transport functionality. I bet Level 3, Time Warner, etc all have dealings with the NSA like MS does to monitor and cherry pick data.
