So my Xbox One sounds like this when installing games

Recorded from about an inch away from the XB1 with an iPhone.

It's quiet, but being a ringing sound I can notice it from across the room, even over the game audio if I listen for it. Quiets back down after the install is done. People have said their drive is always silent, which worries me. Is this normal or is something wrong?

Your recording sounds like dead air. Might be my old ears not picking up on it. But, my 360 does something similar to what you're describing. I wonder if it's the same thing. I have no fixes for you though. I keep a clean apartment, and regularly blast the dust out of my electronics. Still does it.

Yeah sorry duder, there's just no audible ringing in that sound clip.

I wonder if my ears are just super sensitive to ringing sounds then, I definitely get a ring in that clip I recorded. It's not a ringing as in say a light bulb or speaker, more like something spinning so fast that it creates a high pitched hum.Either the drive or the fan. Or my brain.
