This is a bit of an FYI thread in case some of you missed some big Xbox One news lately, but Rocket League has finally gotten a release date on Xbox One of February 17th. I've been waiting for this one for a while, as this game is every bit as fun and addictive as it's reputed to be. The Xbox One version will include three of the DLC packs for free, Halo's warthog, the GoW Armadillo, and some Sunset Overdrive extras. I expect to lose many hours to this one, having already put in some serious time with it on a friend's PS4. Hell, maybe I can even get the wife to play it.
Also of note, the fairly underwhelming backwards compatibility library appears to be getting a big upgrade in the future with the impending inclusion of one of the previous generation's best games in Red Dead Redemption. This news broke with RDR being temporarily made available on the Xbox One until it was pulled off, with MS citing that it was still being tested. It's damn good to know that it's in the works, as this was a game I feared might never make it in. That said, some of the confirmed "in process" games have been that way for months on end, so how soon we'll get to saddle up for another ride remains to be seen. Perhaps the long-rumored sequel is in the works and RDR will be made available leading up to its release or alongside it. One can hope.
