It's clearly a holding price. They put it so high because when Microsoft finally do announce the price they can knock £100 off their original pre-order price rather than having to email people to say "sorry, it's actually more expensive"

It's the estimated highmark. No official price has been announced. Amazon could be legally held to its lowest pricetag by preordering customers. In order to avoid legal troubles, retailers highball it.

If you think that's a high estimate, a Finnish retailer had a PS4 pre-order after the announcement for 1000€.

Yeah, that is most likely just place holder. If Microsoft is actually gonna sell it at that price they are insane.

Eh, I'd say more like $650. Europe always gets shafted on pricing and we get nowhere near the actual exchange rate.
