This list sounds plausible if a little weak. What do you think? Note that this is just the initial list and more will hopefully come later

That list looks plausible. Certainly matches things we've seen so far in various screenshots. Also matches the work they've done so far with things like Rare Replay and the Master Chief Collection.
Seems a bit odd how they have Saints Row and Saints Row The Third listed but no Saints Row 2.

All I want is Skate 2 or Skate 3. Can they please just give that to me? Just that much? Please?
I'm with you. The Skate series is pretty much the only games I care about being backwards compatible.
That is a solid list for me there are a lot of games on there that I want to play but never got to.
Bioshock: Infinite, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Gears of War: Judgement. I would also love to dive back into Fable 3, Albion is probably my favorite game world so spending some more time in it would be fun.
Well, hopefully that's not it, I'd really like Rock Band 2 or 3 to be on that list for starters or Project 8.
I mainly wanted access to some of my XBLA library again. So it looks like I'll be able to play Shadow Complex and Hexic HD again going by that list.
There are some omissions that don't make much sense to me. Why include Saint's Row 1 and 3 but not 2 or 4? (I know 4 and Gat are on XB1, but 2 isn't) There are also several we know will be compatible that aren't on the list, like R6 Vegas 1 and 2. I'm going to say it's either an early version of the list or fake.
If it's real, though, I'm excited to get into Shadow Complex, which I never got around to last gen.

Skate 2/3 and Geometry Wars 2, are the only reason I still have my 360 hooked up.
@shaunage: I remember Saints 2 was a real shitshow (for some people) on PC; Saints 4 wasn't exactly a mess on consoles, but it didn't run great; it could be that they just aren't coded very well and there's issues when they try to emulate them.
Alan Wake, Gears 3, Borderlands, Trouble in Paradise, Just Cause 2, this list could certainly be worse.
I wonder why Red Dead and the CoD games were omitted, remaster stuff probably. Maybe stuff will get added after the fact since there are compatible games not listed there.
EDIT: Aw fuck yeah the driving game of the generation CARS. But no Dead Space 2 :(
This list doesn't have Streets of Rage 2 and that title has been confirmed. I don't think this is real or up to date.
No Black Ops II?
There's no way that I can believe they would have backwards compatibility without having at least Black Ops II on the list. That game is still WAAAAAAAAAAY too popular to ignore. It could be an Activision thing, though.
Then again, when you consider the frame rate drops that have been in the preview of BC, it would actually make sense that they wouldn't bring the COD stuff over. That game basically hinges on the FPS and online performance.
If this list is true, then it's pretty bunk...and I'm curious how often they will update for backward compatibility.
yeah...that is a really sweet list indeed! I can think of at least 5 games I would be interested in buying...
Burnout Paradise is on there, Jeff will be happy.
Wouldn't Jeff just play that on PC so it's all high res and pretty?
No Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon?!
LOVE. IS. DEEEEEEAD.
Those are the first two I looked for on list, followed by any jrpg at all, followed by disappointment :-( ... I am sure more are coming than this though.
I am positively whelmed by this list. In fact, I might even be fairly content with this, especially with the understanding that more games will be added to the collection.
No Red Dead, no GTA, no Call of Duty. But, hey. This ain't a bad start, folks.
The weaker the list is, the more plausible it would be. I'd say it is too optimistic, so I have my doubts. Maybe, take a few of those better know games off there by 3rd parties and it might be close.
I'm willing to bet that any game that was on multiple disks won't be BC at all mainly based on the fact that there were little to none available digitally in the Xbox 360 digital store.
I'm surprised that Halo's are in there dispite the Master Chef collection being a thing.
They did say in a video when BC was announced that any game that was multiple discs would not be available so there will likely never be things like Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2 and 3 and Lost Odyssey etc. Also, nothing with external peripherals like RB and DJ Hero.
I'm glad Alan Wake, and Bayonetta is on there, assuming it's real. I'd love Red Dead and some stuff like Sonic Generations.
I thought this leak had been debunked on Reddit. The thing that makes me think it's either fake or out of date is the lack of Doom and Streets of Rage 2. Both have been available to select preview members for a while now.
@jakob187: When they showed the list of publishers that they were partnering with for the backwards compatibility at E3, Activision was mysteriously not on the list.
Some of these choices are weird. Dead Space but no Dead Space 2? Not a single Call of Duty title?
Killer is Dead?! (I mean, I like that game, but it sticks out like a sore thumb here, it's especially weird when you remember that Suda's new project is a Sony exclusive).
Reading this list also reminds me: Can we please have Shadow Complex on PC? Finally? Pretty please?
