From what we heard new games will have to be installed and registered in order to play the game, after the install the game disk is not needed to boot up the game. Since the game disk is not needed after install and register do you think the used game market will be over flowed with games due to gamers trading the game days after it comes out?

You have to pay a fee to use the game again on a different console (or account).

Yes, the implication from the last couple days of press releases is that games must be authenticated through the live service before they will function on the console at all.

I think what mikey i saying is that once its installed and authenticated what's to stop the influx of disks hitting the used games markets if there is no incentive to keep them. you can still play the game from your HDD and the new user will pay the fee.

Oh, in that case the only thing stopping it is prohibitively high used-game fee. If used game fee is the same price as new game, there is no incentive to buy a used copy of the game. Or even if used-game purchase price + used-game registration fee combined is greater than or equal to the price of new game, same problem.

Each disc can only be authenticated for one system. So if you trade in your game disc and someone purchases it and installs the game, you will no longer be authenticated to play it.

This makes sense. Basically it's the same as saying you need the disc to play the game.
