So I'm trying to buy a $14.99 game off of the xbox store and I have $5.00 in Microsoft credits and when I select the credits and then try to pay the remainder with my credit card it says "please use another way to pay" and say it cannot be authorized. I've tried this a thousand times, even trying to Google it doesn't come up with any real answers. This is the first time something like this has happened to me, so I'm hoping maybe someone can help me with this problem. Thanks!

Hmmm, you should be able to split a purchase between store credit and credit card. Is your credit card expired? If not I don't really know why it wouldn't let you use your card.

That's a weird one. I've definitely combined credits and a charge for the remainder before. Might just be a temporary glitch.

@kedi2: My credit card doesn't expire for another three years, so I'm good on that front. I use my card on the XS all the time, but for some reason it won't let me use my MS credit and then my card. I tried calling MS support and they didn't have any answer at all as to why it wouldn't work.

I've only been able to successfully split an Xbox payment once, about 2 years ago. Since then it always fails. Never managed to work out why.

Not a huge problem as I now only have about 30p credit left :-)

I have never had any trouble splitting purchases across stored credit and a credit card either. Are you doing it on the console itself or via the web store? (I've done both successfully, but if one isn't working for you maybe try the other?)

Not a ton of help to offer you, but I experienced the same thing. Split transactions are supported, but seem to not always work.

I tried to buy Rocket League in February when it came out using ~$5 in MS credit and the rest via CC, and it errored every time, whether done on the xBox or web. If I remember right, the error message seemed to point to some sort of region (?!?) thing.

A month later, I was able to buy The Peanuts Movie (it was on sale and I have a 4 year old, don't judge) on the MS Video store using ~$7 in MS Credit and the rest on CC. It was the same MS account and Credit Card, so no idea why it worked fine the second time. Maybe a difference due to type of media I was buying?
