Yangus is the strong comrade of the hero and one the four main characters from Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. He also appears as the protagonist of Dragon Quest: Shounen Yangus to Fushigi no Dungeon.
Overview
Yangus is a cockney-accented friend of the hero in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. He initially meets the hero, King Trode and Princess Medea when he attempts to mug them, but when he almost falls off of a bridge in the process, the hero comes to his rescue. From that day on, Yangus is a devoted friend and ally of the hero and works to assist him in lifting the curse plaguing the king, his daughter, and the kingdom itself. He later appears in Dragon Quest: Shounen Yangus to Fushigi no Dungeon as a boy.
Outside of the Dragon Quest franchise, Yangus has appeared in several titles in the Itadaki Street board game series, including Fortune Street, the first title to see an official release in North America.
