I booted up my youtube android app a minute ago to find that my updates had been bombarded by Giantbomb's youtube account for new videos. I know what your thinking, what is wrong with that? The only problem is they are putting up all the cutscenes from Uncharted 3, that is literally the title. My question is, since when did Giantbomb feel like they needed to do such a thing? I don't mind it when a youtube user does it, but why does Giantbomb feel the need to be those guys and almost make buying the game for it's story completely worthless.

I think that's all the interns. Also, you don't have to watch the video.

I really don't know. I had to unsubscribe from all the Whiskey sites, they were destroying my subscriptions feed with nonsense!

It's on the giantbomb channel though, which means it reflects the company. Did everyone sit down and say "hey I think this is a great idea." This feels like it would be on a random youtube channel not a site like giantbombs.

It seems like editing practice for the interns. I say they should make their own stupid videos full of actual content. I don't care if they just talk over it and it's terrible, but don't just upload plain ass clips.

people do this all the time. i think it's a good thing. sometimes i'll watch a video from a clip of a video game, that i don't have. i watched the ending for metal gear solid 3 every once in a while. i don't have a working ps3 and i don't feel like buying a ps3 and play the game again.

Yeah, this year has been full of bad decisions for Giant Bomb and WM in general. I think they're starting to forget why people loved them and their websites in the first place..

Yeah some of the stuff they post just seems unnecessary. I believe, although I could be wrong, that the youtube channel is pretty much completely controlled by the interns so maybe that's why you see this sort of content on there. Just unsub.

I wish it was soundtracks, instead. At least that way, it would make sense to see Giant Bomb videos cloggging up my subscription feed :P.

I believe this is the interns doing. On that note I think all the intern content should be relegated to the intern videos playlist on YouTube. While I enjoy the Intern content, I think new users should be introduced to the site through the main site content( the GB crew)  not intern videos.

This sounds ridiculous at first blush, but you're actually right. There isn't much more to these games than the story, so putting up all of the cutscenes the day of/day after release feels like a dick move.

I totally agree. Whatever intern is doing this needs to be taken off the case. GiantBomb is not about putting out this sort of easy, uninspired sort of crap. It's super cheap and nasty.

Since the move of main WM videos to youtube I agree with the dudes above, the main content and the extra comntent (by inetrns and such) needs t0o be seperated.

You guys don't need to watch these videos. For the most part I doubt they are even meant for the main GB community. However, if someone is randomly searching on google or youtube for game videos, finds these, then the comes to the main site and starts getting into the real content, isn't that a win for Whiskey Media? Pretty sure the crew wouldn't be mad with more people coming to the sight regardless of how they got here.

It looks like there's a lot of editing practice videos up there, which is great, but you know... practice is practice. I'd save that account for more polished fare. GB is about depth, not breadth of coverage.

This stuff should be taken down. Honestly, I know I don't have to watch the videos, but it's lazy content, certainly not good enough for a legitimate website. They're better than that sort of stuff.

Isn't that copyright infringement? For a game as theatrical and story based as Uncharted, it seems really unethical. Like if they uploaded the cinematics of a Metal Gear Solid or a Final Fantasy. Many people play these games just for the story.

When posting on therealgiantbomb youtube page, ask yourself, "what would giantbomb do?"
