The game is most well-known for its conversion into Super Mario Bros. 2, changing the characters into Mario characters. Doki Doki is onomatopoeia for a rapidly beating heart in Japan. Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic was one of the first Famicom Disk System games to utilize the Famicom Sound Channel.
