Finally some footage!
The majority of the video is spear gameplay, but he switches to the sword towards the end. The game was made for traditional Wiimote controls, but MotionPlus adds off-screen tracking of where you point (which is something all FPS and games like Shattered Memories desperately needed!), reliable gesture input (such as the thrusting of the spear here), and sword slashing similar to Red Steel 2's that, fortunatly, does away with the colorful bars across the screen. Very nice!
According to the friendly people at Neogaf, the game was made with traditional Wiimote control in mind, with optional Classic Controller OR MotionPlus support. That is how you do it! Add MotionPlus support for reliable gesture input for those that want it, offer non-motion controls for those that don't want it.
