if they wrote him as being homosexual then why did they make him turn into metal during the capcom vs marvel series? Doesn't seem too gay to me!

Eagle is gay, being a tribute to Freddy Mercury which was the lead singer in Queen. And in Capcom VS SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium 2001 Eagle and Zangief has a special intro.
If you watch closely (at 02:07) you will see that they both are spinning at the same direction, so yes, I think that is a way to say that he indeed is gay. So what?
Eagle & Rock Howard also has a special intro where Eagle comments on Rock's beauty, and another one with Morrigan where he says that her succubus powers won't work on guys like us. (Us gays)

The imagery is certainly fairly gay, but Zangief is a fictional character.
I know someone who used to work for Sesame Street, and they get calls all the time about Bert and Ernie. There is a standard answer to these inquiries:
"Bert and Ernie are puppets. They have no sexual orientation."

EGM had an article on their Top 10 gay video game characters. Zangief was like number 3 or something because in one of the original games he said he did not like girls in bikinis. Interpret it as you will. It was an old issue from like a year or 2 ago Idk if I even still have it anymore.

Are you kidding me? Zangief is probably the manliest video game character of all time. If you think he's gay, perhaps it's because he's so manly that you find yourself attracted to him and in turn are hoping he is homosexual so that perhaps you two can start a romantic relationship.
