The Zapper was the official light gun for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It came bundled with the NES in the North American launch in October 1985, and was also made separately available. The Zapper originally came with a grey handle and barrel, which were later switched to orange. The Zapper's only control button was a trigger on the underside of the barrel. The trigger made a distinctive mechanical clicking noise when pulled, followed by the noticeable spring recoil.

Trivia
- The NES Zapper is noticeably different from the Japanese Beam Gun for the Famicom. The Beam Gun is designed to look like a replica 6-shot revolver. With its black finish, it's very realistic.
