Rubix cube? (possible spoilers)

Anyone weirded out by the completely random rubix cube in the end cutscene/credits? I had seen that rubix cube on the throne at the End of the World, but I didn't think it was going to show up at the very climax of the game! Significant? Or did the ACE Team developers just really enjoy solving rubix cubes as kids?

Golem was playing it when he was waiting for you by the beach, I'm guessing its his cube.
