Are you familiar with the concept of "Fridge Brilliance"? TV Tropes defines it as:
You watch a movie and something about it just seems off, you don't like it. One night, as you get up for a midnight snack, you open the refrigerator door and the light dawns on you, "This is the real purpose behind this plot!"
Because you had that epiphany, what once was a hated moment has become one of your favorites.
... and this game is choke full of them. Well, maybe you didn't hate them, but there are certainly some moments or some things a character say that, at the time, did not make much sense, or you perceived them as odd, but in hindsight get a whole new meaning. Which have been your favorite moments of such fridge brilliance? Obviously, again, SPOILERS! I won't bother putting hiding anything behind a spoiler tag because you've all been warned. My two favorite ones are:
- Sigma and K: K is Kyle Kline, Sigma's clone. But when the group finds him, nobody recognizes his face. Sigma's mind is blown... and it blows even harder when he looks at his reflection in a well and realizes he's an old man with a cyborg eye. With this knowledge (and everything that is revealed in the True Ending), a lot of unusual things make a lot more sense:
- The 3DS lower screen looking like a scanner, due to Sigma's eye.
- The fact that the only time we see his face is in the intro, but never during the game. Even when he accuses Dio of being the one who planted the bombs the player only sees his arm stretching, à la Phoenix Wright.
- Someone in the Crew Quarters (I think it was either Alice or Phi, can't remember) mentions that it had been "a long time" for Sigma to still be working on getting his medical degree. Given the fact that he's only 22, at first, this comment seems a bit out of place, since you don't usually finish your degree until you're 23, 24 years old (or even older, in the case of Medicine). But then you realize that Phi and Alice see Sigma as an old man and their comment gets a whole new meaning.
- Why Luna always chooses Ally. She's a GAULEM, so she has to go by the Three Rules of Robotics. She will never choose Betray, since she could be indirectly harming a human by doing so.
