    Overview

    The Long Dark is a first-person survival/exploration game developed and published by Hinterland Studio. Its development was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign that ran from September 16 to October 16, 2013. An alpha version of the game was available via Steam Early Access from September 2014. The game was officially released on August 1, 2017 for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PS4, with a Nintendo Switch version following on September 17, 2020.
