    Under development since 2012, by Media Molecule, Dreams was first revealed at E3 2015 after multiple tech demos at various game shows and conventions. The game then largely disappeared from the public eye until its return at the 2017 Game Awards, with a new release date set for 2018.

    After a beta and Early Access period on PSN, which lasted for much of 2019, the full retail and digital version of the game/media creation tool-kit was released on February the 14th, 2020.
