Overview

1830: Railroads & Robber Barons is a historical management/strategy game developed by Simtex Software and published by The Avalon Hill Game Company (with U.S. Gold co-publishing it in Europe) for DOS PCs in 1995.
A digital adaptation of Avalon Hill's real-life board game 1830: The Game of Railroads and Robber Barons, 1830 is set in the north-eastern United States during the railway boom of the 1830's, with up to six players as businessmen (or "barons") attempting to make the most money by managing stocks and ownership of different railway companies. Along with manipulating the stock market, players use their power to determine how profitable their companies are (by building stations, trains, and routes on a hexagonal board).
Along with the base game settings, this adaptation includes the option for randomized boards and other unique rules.
