A Boy and His Blob has a button that causes the boy to get all huggy with your blob friend... which got me thinking. What games out there can benefit from this unique hug feature? There are too many instances where you feel depressed as you walk across an alien-infested wasteland of shattered dreams and hate. Where are my goddamn rainbows and sunshine? Gimme a hug!

What if Gears of War had a hug button? What if you gave Dom a hug every time he felt sad? It adds yet another creepy level of bromance to the many levels of bromancitude. Bromanceitude is totally a made-up word, by the way.

Army of Two fist bumps? Fuck that shit! How about a man hug on occasion? Could actually knock down the gayness by a few pegs.

How about Punch-Out!! for some hugs? I don't know how they can implement it, but Nintendo can find a way somehow. Make Bear Hugger playable... that's my suggestion.

MadWorld might be about killing and maiming, but how about Jack give those bad guys a big ol' hug that pulverizes them into a paste-like substance?

The art of hugging is sorely lacking in video games and I for one am disappointed. Hugging is a natural reaction and is used for so many situations yet still rare in video games. The industry needs a hug... and more blobs.

Dead Space. All of the necromorphs want to hug Isaac, some even leap at him to get that hug. Sure it's a little much, but Isaac shouldn't react so harshly.

One of the fist-bump animations in AO2: The 40th Day is, actually, giving the other character a big lift-you-off-your-feet bear hug.
