I recently bought Advance Wars: Dark Conflict and thought I'd check the Giant Bomb page. I then noticed that with the exception of Lin, all of the character pages names differ from those in my game.

For example, the guy listed as Will here on GB is called Ed in the version of the game that I have.

Does the characters have these names in the American version of the game and if so, what's the reason for the change?

Days of Ruin (NTSC) and Dark Conflict (PAL) (the game I have) were translated independently of each other.  Apparently the PAL version has some pretty bad translations.  Anyway, the names of the characters I have on my screen are (from top left to right and then down) are:

That explains it, but it's still kinda odd and confusing.
