Nintendo/Famicom Wars is a turn based strategy game that first appeared on the Famicom. The series would not see a US installment until 2001, when Advance Wars was released on the GBA. The game features a map making tool and has recently included online play in the latest Nintendo DS installment. In 2005 Battalion Wars (Game) a more action oriented offshoot franchise of the classic Nintendo Wars games was released on the Nintendo Gamecube followed by Battalion Wars 2 (Game) on the Nintendo Wii in 2007.
