There may still be inherent camera issues with this game like most platformers, but I don't care.  Yes I do want an old-school platformer with a modern game budget goddamit!

So what kind of game is this really? I used to think that the previous Alice game was an adventure game

its certainly a pretty game but what is there that you cant get playing the original, the gameplay looks pretty poor but i appreciate you posting this because i hadnt even heard anything from GDC about this.

Never played (or even really heard of) the original way back when, but the aesthetic of this game really sells it to me. It could be cool.

From McGee's blog, looks like it's Teargas and Plateglass (they're on same label that Vrenna was when he made Alice OST) . Their music was featured in the Xmen 3 trailer, "Plague Burial".  Personally, they sound like a great fit. You can download their album for free from McGee's blog.  "

I guess Wonderland has some pretty unusual environments; it fits the tone quite nicely.
 
Never played the first to be honest and I don't think the sequel will change my mind, reviews will be my judgment when it comes out.

 Art direction looks nice, but the animation, graphics and gameplay look pretty mediocre. The more I find out about this game the less excited I become.

Looks great! I'm getting a 'useless peashooter' vibe from that gun thing, though, kind of like it was Devil May Cry or Darksiders, which makes it strange then that the blade doesn't seem to be significantly more powerful. Or maybe that giant dude is just a damage sponge, hard to tell from just watching one fight.
