@bceagles128: Yes, undoubtedly so. The glaring flaws (one of which being the length) are easily overlooked if you enjoy the atmosphere of the original film Alien, but only you will know how far you're willing to go for that aesthetic.
I'd say so. There's a whole bunch of filler in the game and the middle part is kind of uninteresting. But theres more than enough tension to justify paying 12 dollars for it. Super uneven but overall a good game.
The game was worth full price. Definitely get it. Just know it doesn't fuck around; some parts are as hard as escaping from a highly evolved killing machine should be.
...And by best I merely mean my favourite, because actually legitimately trying to consider what is the ''best'' game of any time period is fruitless.
Nope you are correct, Alien Isolation is without a doubt the best game of 2014. It has its issues and runs a little too long but overall its fantastic.
If you enjoy the Alien films at all (especially the first) you'll drool over how the game reflects the visuals and sounds from the first movie. It's a work of love.
The best game of 2014 and probably the scariest game ever made. I want to play it with an Oculus so bad.
Oh sweet good golly Molly that would be intense, I literally hold up my hands in front of my screen when I get death screens in the game, I would die of every heart attack, all heart attacks.
