Not much to see here, though the more they show the less impact it has when it comes out, I guess. Can't wait to see more of what Frictional + thechineseroom can cook up. Very excited/nervous.

That's pretty great. Looks like there will be outdoor areas this time around. I'm excited!

That's a weak subtitle.
Really? It managed to free itself from a million other cliche subtitles in games/movies/everything.
It should have been Amnesia 2: Revelations. That's a weak subtitle.
No. A Machine for Pigs is a perfectly creepy/disgusting subtitle.

Looks like an Amnesia game.
And Amnesia is like the Penumbra games. Which is why I am somewhat skeptical of this. Frictional seems to be a one note developer. Granted, Amnesia was the apotheosis of everything they have done so far, but I hope this is more than just another Frictional game. We don't know enough to say either way, and even if this is more Amnesia with only a little variation I'll be happy to pick it up, but I hoped for something a little better/different looking. Gathering parts to make a machine work so you can clear the passageway while you piece together the story via Lovecraftian diary entries only plays so many times. The inclusion of thechineseroom has my hopes up though.
Wow, this looks phenomenal. Though it looks similar gameplay-wise to Dark Descent, the plot description on the site sounds almost like it's taking a cue from the great Ice Pick Lodge game Pathologic.
I'm excited.
Oh god, seeing all of those wide-open areas reminded me of the column-filled cavern towards the end of Amnesia. The idea of being so exposed and being so vulnerable is absolutely horrifying. And then the actual gameplay in that trailer. . . oh shit man. Oh shit I don't want that game at all. Oh shiiiiiit. ):
(I'm still going to buy it)
As scary as Amnesia 1 was, I think the monster designs were pretty weak. Their scariness came more from the fact that you had no way to fight back and they were hunting you. The monsters themselves weren't really that scary. So I think them going with a some kind of squealing pig mutant is a great way to go cause hearing the squeals as it broke down the door was pretty damn freaky.

I agree. Amnesia was so great because it was the perfect execution of the formula they created in the Penumbra series. I would definitely like to see them stretch themselves a bit, though. At least someone is still trying to make horror games though.

Well they have the help of The Chinese Room (The guys from Dear Esther) so I bet this one is going to be a lot different and way better than their previous games.
This is just a rumour that´s been spreading on NeoGaf and /v/ so don´t take my word on this but I´ve heard that the game doesn´t have any HUD besides an inventory. You CANNOT pause the game. You just can´t. Only a save and quit button.
@Deusx: If there really isn't any option to pause the game ... I don't know if I can do it. Pause is like my sanctuary from pissing my pants. I would prefer to stay dry.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo D:
As someone that gets lost easily, that part was extra terrifying.
Awesome, I wonder if it will have the same sort of cryptic lovecraftian overtones/feel. I rather enjoyed piecing things together with the story as I made my way through Amnesia. Looking forward to see what the addition of the Dear Esther folks brings to the game compared to Amnesia Dark Descent and the Penumbra series.
Can't even finish the original game. Now you introduce all this disgusting pig imagery? NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Dude I have to disagree. A Machine for Pigs conjurs all kinds of uncomfortable imagery for me, I think it's pretty great. That trailer was pretty much what I was expecting. Terrifying. And that pig monster, sweet Jebus...That's a weak subtitle.

I think it's great. It conjures so much horrific imagery. I am so ready for this game.
It's part of the current humble indie bundle if that's still going. can't get a better deal than that.I still really want to play the first Amnesia, but I'm really turned off by the mechanics of the game. Oh well, I'll probably end up buying it during some Steam sale anyways!
