Hmm.. I might trade in Far Cry 3 and X-Com tomorrow and get this.
Anarchy Reigns
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Jul 05, 2012
In a distant, chaotic future, cyborgs beat the crap out of each other in this multiplayer-heavy 3D beat 'em up from the developers of MadWorld and Bayonetta.
So, are we excited about this?

Kinda wish more people were playing different modes, I can't find people playing tag deathmatch.
Watched some people streaming the game yesterday. And yeah, if you try anything outside of Battle Royale, team deathmatch or survival; good luck. :/
Yeah. And that's why I'll be trying to set up some kind of fight weekend or something starting next week. I would HATE to see this become a Max Payne 3.

I actually just managed to play a few rounds of tag deathmatch, might be my favorite so far. Battle Royale is WAY TOO FUCKING HECTIC. Man, oh man, I felt like I had no idea what was going on half the time. The Team Deathmatch and Deathball are both pretty good too.
I'm warming up to the game after trying some MP, definitely the most fun part. Played the first couple chapter of single-player, and it was okay. To their credit, they do a good job of making the missions diverse enough to be interesting.

How's the single player content? Worth a purchase?
Single player content is definitely not worth a purchase, in my opinion. It's an eight hour dull and repetitive campaign mode with a relatively uninteresting story, however it's the only way to unlock new characters for use in multiplayer. If you get this game, it's for the multiplayer (which has some pretty fun game modes), though I guess you could always play it with bots.

I don't think so. But thats my personal opinion. Missions are quite bland, though they do have crazy characters. If you can't go online, there is a practice mode where you're able to play all online modes against bots.

That's unfortunate. :( I guess I'll pick up Asura's Wrath instead. Never played that.

Not true actually, leveling up in multiplayer also unlocks characters.
Put like 2 hours in and it's alright. Problem is the single player really is a little monotonous. The story missions themselves so far have been fine, it's the part inbetween where you gotta rack up enough points in the rather small HUB world to unlock them. Combat feels great and is super fun, though, and each character from what I've played feel distinctive over one another.
Multiplayer is definitely looking a little dry. I managed to get into a single 1v1 match against a Level 7. He won the first--me as Baron, the other as Bayonetta--but I managed to win one right back, this time with me as Leo while he was one of those Rin sisters. After the second match the other player left, though =(
Tried multiplayer a couple of times on the 360.
One time I only found American players and being in Australia well, that turned out rather laggy. Couldn't play effectively.
Found ONE other Aussie and we played some cage matches for a good 30-40 minutes, which was fun - but not really what I feel the draw of the game is.
I'm sure if you could get a good group together it'd be a blast, but it's difficult finding anyone.
Singleplayers alright but once I'm done with it I don't think it'll be a thing I can go back to.
If multiplayer doesn't liven up it's gonna be somewhat disappointing.
I only played the single player for a bit and enjoyed it. I hope the online is not going to be dead, but I bet there are not going to be many people on. 360 player here.
@Yummylee: You've got to try out some of the other modes. Me and a few of the other tournament participants got together yesterday and had a game of Deathball; it's shockingly great.
Played a bit at the Eurogamer Expo last year and it was quite fun. Not really my sort of game truth be told but, given the £18 price tag, I'll gladly support Platinum Games as they are one of my favourite developers :)
@Make_Me_Mad: If there were people playing I would. I did at least manage to get into a couple 4-player deathmatch, which were pretty great. I can definitely see the potential here and I'm looking forward to this GB tournament when we've got ourselves more players to play around with the other, more chaotic modes.
I've had the most luck getting into survival games. But if I wanted to play a horde mode I'd play a game with a good horde mode. More people need to play deathmatch as I find it more fun than battle royale or team deathmatch.
This is hands down my favorite fighting game of all time. Cage Match makes this game feel like a legit 3D environmental fighter, Death Ball revived my favorite Unreal Tournament mode.
At the risk of sounding like a douche: Did you guys really think that a Japanese game would sell well on the 360? If it isn't Dark Souls, then there's little hope of it having success here. Not to mention, this was a niche game to begin with. Even in the PS3 demo, I was finding matches left and right, but that has more to do with the amount of PS3 owners there are in Japan, I suppose.

The 360 demo actually had a decent enough playerbase that I figured the full game would be fine. Could go from searching for a match to playing the game in the demo within a couple minutes, which I figured was pretty good for a Japanese Gold only demo. I now own both versions of this game though because the 360 version is so dead online, and I oddly don't feel that bad about it. Probably the price combined with the developer.
To bad there is no cross play for us all.
There could be more players tomorrow when the EU release is so hark there is hope...maybe.... Good thing i am more of a PS3 guy.

Will they be able to get more than 1 person? Seems so far the majority bought for PS3
