First one came out at http://cheatcc.com/wii/rev/animalcrossingcityfolkreview.html
CheatCC isn't really a reliable source, and the review wasn't written that well. The reviewer continuously commented on the game as a rehash of the DS version, but still thinks thats good.
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Nov 16, 2008
Animal Crossing comes to the Wii as a sequel to the original GameCube and DS versions. Featuring a host of new features such as improved online play, a new voice chat option through the use of Wii Speak, a city for players to visit, and new holidays.
Animal Crossing Review
I think I will wait for a more respectable review source, preferably Ryan here.
EDIT:
I will definitely be getting it, the simple mechanics alone warrant the purchase even if it's practically the same game. The inclusion of Wii Speak will liven things up sufficiently. I was hoping for a fresh looking game though.
Another review came in, this time from Digital Chumps. Although I've never heard of this website, the review provides just what I had nervously expected in a well written format.

"It looks like a fun game. Not amazing or GOTY, but a fun, rehashed game that everybody loves. I am gonna wait for the GB review (PREDICTION: 4/5)"
I predict a 3/5, I get the feeling that these guys don't appreciate rehashed content, unless it is a remake of a really old game.

WaW is a different game, though. I was under the impression that City Folk and the Game Cube Animal Crossing are virtually the same games.

No, I understand that. But other members here have stated that the content is largely the same, with the same characters, the same village, the same items, and generally the same activities.
I couldn't tell as i haven't played the original. But this one has online and WiiSpeak support and all that crap.

Well, I've heard that many times. In fact...

So, that's where I've been hearing it. =P
"Lol...I didn't need any proof (it wouldn't surprise me to see people saying that), I really haven't paid much attention to the game or the boards since Nintendo basically lost me when they revealed what this game was going to be..."
Yeah, I see what you mean. I also feel too old for the game and although I did enjoy the Gamecube Animal Crossing, it wasn't amazing in my eyes.

Too old for it? Sheesh, I was 24 when the original came out. There is just something about AC that scratches the MMO itch for me without having to devote my life to it. City Folk is definitely not looking revolutionary, but I will be getting it tomorrow and start obsessively collecting things immediately!
I understand the whole "I want a game where I can live a life and not be bound to levels" appeal, but Animal Crossing doesn't do that for me. The Elder Scrolls does.
Man I love the AC series and even though I cannot purchase this one as I don`t have a system to play it on, it will always remain one of my favorite series.
CheatCC, eh? Yeah, I used to go to that site back in the day before I discovered GameFAQs. Then it became like a pop-up nightmare. Anyway, even though the game only seems to make small improvements to existing games in the series, I can't help but get kinda excited about it after having read the review. I'll definitely rent it.
"BiggerBomb said:I predict 3/5. The first sequel Wild World was the World at War to Modern Warfare. Meh. I don't think Nintendo games can rely on online (especially with friends) to sell a game anymore. It's just such a pain to have both people send eachother the stupid friend code. For the DS it's not quite as bad because it's a portable system but when we're at a point where the console and handheld have identical online, Nintendo needs to get a grip.
Plus, I don't think Wii speak is plausible. It shouldn't be said to be put on top of your TV. It's a super loud mic so that it can hear you while you and your friends are talking....doesn't that make you just hear their game as well? And, let's be honest, who actually plays games splitscreen online, and want to be able to chat together at someone else?
No one.
"BiggerBomb said:Definitely."I like your new avatar, whack!"Hey thanks man, gotta show Joe some love.."
HENSHIN A GO-GO BABY!

I'm also looking forward to a new Animal Crossing, devised around using the DSi features. I know that will be awesome. The on board memory and the greater compatibility with the Wii will mean a awesome new AC game. Consider this, AC on the DS practically made the DS a success alone, if Nintendo created a new game with that in mind and the intention of doing the same they would create a awesome new game.
