I know this community has a pretty big Destiny 2 (and Warframe) following, and was wondering how many people will be looking to get into the VIP demo this weekend (and the regular demo the weekend after, 1st-3rd of Feb)?

I thought I'd start up a username exchange for people like me who don't have anyone to play with over the weekend. As far as I'm aware there are meant to be 3 friend codes to get into the VIP demo being sent to everyone who is in it at some point, so we could also use this thread to exchange codes for those who want to play but haven't preordered or used Origin Access to get in.

Alright, should be up to date with everyone's details now. If we get enough PC interest for this/the full game it might be worth getting a Discord going too. Maybe the console players could use it to organise sessions like the MonHun Discord does as well. We'll see.

Okay so I have no idea how this happened but I went here and my EA account had 3 friend codes to give out even though I didn't have demo access myself and didn't preorder. I used one of them on myself and I have access now. Unfortunately I need to give the other two to my friends but I wanted to let everyone know to check that link to see if you have friend codes for some reason like I did.

@theloyaltraitor: Crazy, I just clicked that link and was already logged in and it said I had 3 passes, I redeemed one for myself. I had Basic Origin Access a while ago (december) so I wonder if it that was the reason or if it was a general mistake. Also now when I start up Anthem it just says the server is offline (earlier in the day when I tried it said it was offline then another message said I didn't have access).

I gave in and pre-ordered the Standard edition for PS4 this morning - bmccann42 on PSN if any one wants to party up at some point.

I'm really curious to hear first hand impressions.

I hope you just have to kinda play it to get it because as much as I want to like this game, all the footage I've watched of it just kinda seems.. boring.

My biggest pet peeve in sci-fi games is when they shove sci-fi elements in a boring environment like a jungle with rock temples or something. The other pet peeve is a sci-fi game where your primary weapons are regular ol' bullet shooting machine guns, shotguns, smg's.. I want to see cool future guns that shoot lasers and cerebral bores. Holding your reticle over a weird robot thing and seeing number fly off as your super cool future rifle just goes ratatatat is kinda deflating.

And Anthem from what I've seen has both of those things. I hope the jungle part is just the tutorial stage and you go to different areas because if it's all Just Cause in mech suits then I won't be able to get behind that.

So I hope people play it and say it's awesome because I really would love a fun new game with a long-tail to keep me busy. Last time I really got into one of those was probably The Division.

I play a goodly amount of Destiny, it works for my brain and I can listen to podcasts while I play. Plus fun action sci-fi.

Anthem looks like a similar feedback loop, so I am hoping it is good.

@humanity: All I can say to that is you will have to try it yourself. Even if others love it you might not. I would think if you enjoyed Destiny and the Division you will like it though. Although I didn't like the Division very much. Played Destiny for years though.

I don't think it's even going to work for most people today. Servers have been messed up this whole time; EA said they're working on it.
