    Overview

Anthony Prince, better known by his nickname "Gay Tony", is a supporting character in Grand Theft Auto IV & its expansion pack The Ballad of Gay Tony. He is also a minor character in the After Hours update for Grand Theft Auto Online.

    History

Anthony Prince was born in Liberty City, and raised in Dukes. Tony grew up naturally curious of the world, and admired the bright lights and party life of Algonquin. He would grow to be ashamed of his upbringing. By the mid-1980s, Tony started working at his first nightclub until it was suddenly closed down due to a fire. Soon after, Tony set up his first nightclub called PUDDLE which would also shut down when Tony was arrested for tax evasion. Around this time, Tony allegedly earned the nickname "Gay Tony" for his open homosexuality.

Once he was released from jail, Tony set up his second official nightclub and first gay venue, Thunder. This club was eventually renamed 2 Backed Beast before getting shut down by the city. After several nightclub failures, Tony opened his second gay nightclub Hercules in 1998. When another club Tony owned and managed burned down, the city's governing officials temporarily banned Tony from opening new venues and nightclubs.

Sometime in 2003, this ban was lifted and Tony opened Maisonette 9. After opening this club, Tony met Gracie Ancelotti - daughter to the mob boss of the Ancelotti crime family. In 2005, Tony met Luis Lopez after hiring him as a doorman / bouncer at Hercules. Around this time, Tony also meets Evan Moss - the two go into a relationship and Evan gets Tony addicted to cocaine and painkillers, much to Luis' disdain.

During the 2008 recession, Tony's two major nightclubs, Hercules & Maisonette 9, come under scrutiny and underperform in revenue. Because of this, Tony borrows money from various criminal syndicates across Liberty City to stay afloat and goes in extreme financial debt. Drowning his sorrows in painkillers, cocaine and alcohol.
