Overview
Another Eden (full name: Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space) is a free to play turn-based RPG for mobile developed by Wright Flyer Studios. The game was developed in collaboration with notable creative figures from Chrono Trigger, namely writer Masato Kato and composer Yasunori Mitsuda. The game's plot takes several cues from Chrono Trigger's premise and characters and expands them into a lengthy narrative with multiple episodes and gacha mechanics.
A different version of Another Eden for the Nintendo Switch was announced in development in late 2018, but whether it would be the same game or excise the gacha elements for the console or be a different game entirely is unknown at this time.
Plot
A boy named Aldo spends most of his life growing up in the village of Baruoki with his sister Feinne, under the care of the old Mayor who acts as a father figure. One day, the Beast King attacks the village and kidnaps Feinne, hoping to use her untapped power to erase humans from the world and create a haven for Beast-kin. Aldo tries to fight back against the Beast King with his sword, the "Ogre Rancorem," but is outmatched by the Beast King's strength. When all hope seems lost, Aldo suddenly finds himself thrown into a wormhole that sends him 800 years into the future, to the floating city of Elzion.
Aldo soon finds himself thrown into a grand adventure that takes him through time and space, where the fate of not just his home, but the entire universe is at stake. A journey takes him from his present day village, to the future of Elzion, back to the ancient past when dinosaurs roamed the land, and back again to the present.
