I joined the chat just like 2 minutes after they finished broadcasting and rewinded to see the announcement.

I was as choked up as he was announcing it! He's been one of the "constants" that's been around for the whole ride. No offence to Patrick and Austin that I wasn't as sad when they left but I feel like we got to see Drew grow and evolve over the years just as much as we each have grown for a good 8 years since the start. Drew's always been killing it off camera but I'm glad I got to see him take a more prominent role on camera in the past couple of years too. I mean, it was a reality bound to happen but kind of surreal once it smacks you in the face.

There also seems to be a sudden exodus between Danny leaving last Sept, Mary just last month and now Drew. I'm almost glad GBeast doesn't have another video producer right now so Vinny would *have* to stay but ooph, I know it'll happen eventually but I'm gonna need some time to recover from Drew's departure.

I'll follow his adventures for sure as I find him to be the most eccentric and interesting personality on the site. In some ways that makes this news a little more bearable. I always got the feeling that he was always destined for some grand adventure and an unfettered Drew allowed to spread his wings could go on to do amazing things. And amazing things he shall do!

I'll also echo that it's odd seeing one of the more original faces deciding to move on. Yeah, Patrick and Austin were great parts of the team for awhile, but they weren't there from basically the beginning. Eventually they all will for one reason or another, but it doesn't make it any easier to see.

It's a weird thing, but listening to the podcast over the years and hearing Drew tell stories about new things he was learning to do. They inspired me to get off my lazy arse and try new things too (nothing as cool as flying a plane though). You'll be missed Drew, best of luck.

Bummer. I felt for a while now that although Drew clearly still has a love of games his interests always seem to aim much higher (to the skies and then to space). He will be missed, and to be quite honest I'm somewhat worried for the general health of this website with a hole like this to fill.
