There is an interview with the new lead designer for Diablo 3 Jay Wilson on IGN. In the interview Jay says just what I thought he would.
"What we've shown is the earliest parts of the game meant to be a little sunnier and brighter than the later because we're trying to set a juxtaposition and make everything feel worse as the game move on."
I knew Blizzard wasn't going to just have a bright and shinny world. There is also some other good stuff in the interview about inventory, a crafting system, and combat.

I know blizzard won't let us down.
Just as i thought it was going to be.
agree with both of you, I have never played a bad blizzard game, and even though i didnt like wow, that wasnt because it was a bad game, I could really apprieciate why the population of a small south american country play it, it was just my own tastes.
All this nonsense with Diablo 3 petition and stuff is just daft, they will make a great game, just wait and see god dam it!
