What was the first game you ever had for the N64.
The first game i got for the N64 was Mario Kart 64 and the console.
I got them both as a gift for my birthday.
Nintendo 64

The successor to the SNES was Nintendo's entry in the fifth home console generation, as well as the company's first system designed specifically to handle polygonal 3D graphics.
Your first ever N64 game?
I got it the Christmas it came out, when there were only two games. I got Mario 64, and that alone justified the purchase.
man, i grew up with this machine. so many memories... like when i played mario kart and pressed pause in the middel of the race and went to school and continiude wen i got home like 7 hours later. man... many memories...
yeah mario kart was first game, shortly after i got a basket ball game but som asshole robed it a long time agoe so i dont remember the name of it... but i remember you could play as aliens or something... yeah, it was whicked-cool
My first N64 game was the first proper console game I had. It would be Mario Kart, which I would play a ton of, and then I became quite addicted to Harvest Moon... *sigh* those poor pregnant cows.
My dad being the non-gamer that he is thought that any game with Mario in the title was the same. So when I asked for Super Mario 64 the Christmas that I got my N64, he gave me Mario Golf (my first game, but wasn't bad by any means). He did this again, except with Mario Kart 64 the next year, and then Mario Party the year after that. Eventually I went to a Gamestop to get my own copy of Super Mario 64.
"All of these posts are lies. Everyone's first game was Super Mario 64 and you know it!"No, I believe them, there's a lot of kids & people that didn't have the money to get it on day one. I'm just surprised there aren't more hardcore gamers like me (and maybe you?) here...
"Star Wars Pod Racing."Star Wars Episode I: Racer was fucking amazing. I'm glad someone else at least acknowledges this game's existence.
For me, it was Starfox 64. Still one of my favorite N64 titles.
The force was strong with that one.
The first game I owned for it was Rayman 2. I debated on either getting it or Earthworm Jim 3D. Thankfully I got Rayman 2.
I might be alone on this one. I got Cruis'n USA as my first N64 game. I believe I wanted to get Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, but it was sold out everywhere, so I got Cruis'n instead. I recall Super Mario 64 was the first game I rented on my N64, and my best friends thought I was nuts because Mortal Kombat Trilogy had just come out and we were all huge MK fans. I think I made the right choice there by going with Mario. Really... MKT in general wasn't so hot, especially not so much on the N64. As for Cruisin', well... looking back, it's not a great game, but I had some good times with it. Heh, and in the end, I'm not the biggest fan of Super Mario 64. I can appreciate it's significance in paving the way for 3D games to follow, but for the most part, I don't think it's nearly as great as most people would have you believe. I actually feel similarly about Mario Galaxy, which I think was quite a major disappointment, and unlike Super Mario 64, I can't really say it did much for the greater good of games.
Also, I'd just like to add that I think the N64 doesn't get nearly the recognition it deserves. Most people will claim the PS1 was superior, but looking back, I think N64 definitely had the better games. Sure, it had some major dry spells, which have plagued Nintendo sense, but the quality was top-notch with most of those big games. Ultimately, I think we can all agree that what's more important is quality over quantity.
