I thought you only became a zombie if you got bitten, So the only time they "eat brains" is when they're hungry. I think it's balanced out :P

i dont think zombies "get hungry" i think there more like guppies and will eat intill they explode 

If they don't get hungry what would be their motivation to constantly eat?

Well maybe they're just trying to have fun! They don't always have to eat brains for a purpose.

Zombies don't eat brains. Never have. They don't need to eat because they have no working digestive system.

It's a common missconception that zombies moan "brains", without their lungs working actually, it's just the air thats pressed out of their lungs while moving. And they don't realy articulate what they are "saying". If you'd listen to a single zombie, you would realize that easily, but as they appear in groups most of the times, it's hard to hear that. It's just a trick of your mind, that you hear them asking for brain, but in the end, they just want to bite you.

And MattyFTM is totally right, they don't actually eat as their digestive system is not working. But the lower brainfunctions, still working in their undead heads, makes them shamble on and bite you anyway...
They don't want to harm you, they just don't know better. Those poor fellows... just blast their heads off :)
