[UPDATE] CONSIDER THIS "CASE CLOSED!" Firmware 3.00 has eliminated my problem with this.
Any new minor complaints??

In game XMB was a great addition, only one problem, whenever i try to check the time its so annoying because they put the battery life on the same spot as the clock! anyone think thats annoying?!

one minor complaint about in-game XMB
Yes! Finally someone understands me. But it doesn't really matter for me because I have clocks everywhere, but it does get annoying when you're trying to check the time in a quick way. Another gripe I have with in-game XMB is that no developers are putting in-game music into their games. We have this feature that everyone wants but nobodys using it.
"Is in-game music a feature that has to be utilized specifically by devs?Yes, the in-game music feature is something that is going to be optional for devs. They can choose to put it in their game or not. Sony chose to make it optional so that developers who felt that the feature detracted from their game can choose to leave it out.
I thought it was for an upcoming firmware for any title....
"
I find it annoying is when you are reading a message and when you press circle it takes you out if the message box and onto the friends screen.
"Juxiang said:actually i hear microsoft has legal control over in game music so sony had to do it that way"Is in-game music a feature that has to be utilized specifically by devs?Yes, the in-game music feature is something that is going to be optional for devs. They can choose to put it in their game or not. I'm annoyed by the fact that you can't really do anything with it. I need to swap between TV/headphones and my receiver quite a bit. Thought I'd be able to to change the audio output at least, but nope. I don't know why this isn't possible.
And relating to that, the options you can't access from within the game should be marked as such, or not accessible at all.

"Yeah they should move the battery to the top left corner. It's so minor though, I don't care."Minor? This is major I tell you...MAJORRRRRRR
"And relating to that, the options you can't access from within the game should be marked as such, or not accessible at all."This. This.
I keep thinking I can use features in-game, and get that dialog asking if you want to quit. I like that I can go from a game to the browser, but I think some visual indication that you need to quit first would be nice.
Totally agree. Something that will definitely be fixed for next firmware update. It is probably so simple to move it over slightly or have it come up just below the clock.
I find it annoying too. I'd rather have in-game music in all games, in-game private chat, and in-game cross-game invites though.
Although I'm glad Sony did get in-game XMB implemented, I wish it had been more well-rounded and complete (for lack of a better word). Like Kyrom and others have said, it should've been a trimmed down XMB with only the working features actually displayed.
If only Sony talked with developers a little more prior to releasing the patch as well, so that there would be more trophies available, in-game music would work, and heck, having the game you're playing pause all would've been nice, convenient features that could've been coordinated a little better than they were.

"they really need to get more in-game soundtrack support for all games none of this "it's up to the developer" shit.
"
Yeah, they did have it like that (for all games) in an earlier version of the firmware, but they took it out for some reason. I think its because of MS' patent on in-game music, so they have to leave it up to devs, but who knows because Sony isn't clarifying.
the clock isnt really annoying. just wait the 3 secs and it will be clear. also i think it takes to long to load the avas of my friends list
I honestly didn't even notice. lol. I uhh have noticed something odd tho. (when not playing a game) the PS3's XMB seems sluggish when compared to the PSP's XMB!
I know there isn't ingame XMB on the PSP and thats why I compared the them when no games were playing, but it seems to me that my psp reacts quicker than my PS3 does.... odd no?
i have some new little complaints.
Yeah, like someone else said, Sony took the in game XMB too literal. I want a small menu, that pauses the game and has a few options, like quit game, trophies, buddys, and maybe the controller battery life and info on the bottom, (sort of like what it looks like when you hold down the PS button. It's a minor thing and I already got used to it, but a little details go a long way.
