Ads on Giant Bomb?

Jeff asked us what type of ads we would like to see on Giant Bomb and how we would like them to be presented. What type of ads do you want to see and how do you want them to be presented?

Well i'd hope that the majority of adverts would be games related, or tech related, wouldn't be great to have KFC adverts all over the shop, as for how they are presented i'd think banners acorss the top or bottem of the site wouldn't be to bad really, better than having them impose on articales or the main body of the site.

Drink ads

You want it to be mainly gaming. Maybe some beverages eg. Muntain Dew, maybe even some Doritos type advertisement, and im sure the burger forum could have either MC's, Wendys or BK advertising there.  

Yeah, according to the latest Bombcast, they said their ads are going to be the stuff that we're interested in and will also be minimalistic, so unlike other sites, we won't feel overwhelmed by the lame ads.

Well, no ads that give you seizures. Oh, and ads that are gaming related, computer parts, that type of thing would be nice.

Any ads related to gamers.  Whether it be games, febreze, energy drinks, or fast food. :P
I think banner ads would be best as they can be presentable and wont interrupt the site itself.

I would like to see something that is somehow generated for the page I am looking at.  For example Amazon links to buy the game, or some sort of ad that recommends similar games.

I want ads that are not directly in my face, or maybe and option to pay a fee to not see ads.

So long as we don't see Old Spice posters plastered in our faces, I really don't mind

I think banners are the best way to go, and not the "Click here to claim your free PS3!" ones either.






I don't really care though, because my Ad Blocker will block them.  >.<

Only game ads. No insurance or other weird stupid stuff.

Game related only and maybe some movies.

In my opinion, ads are fine as long as they are from established companies and not flashy, aren't resource hogging, don't advertise free stuff, don't advertise emoticons, and don't act as pop-ups.

I think they'll be smart about it.

Please no ads that pop up and play sound as you try frantically to find the "close x" button. That's crap.

I think Giant Bomb is aiming for the 18-31 demographics, so I would go for tech ads.

Ads for drinks would be interesting as well.

Oh no not ads! But I guess it was destiny. I agree with the above poster, no popups or ads that take over the screen making you exit out of them. Also no videos or flashy things if possible. Preferably just game ads.

well gotta earn moneys some how.

Oh and also, I'd like the ads to relate to what I am looking at...for example, if I'm looking at RTS games, then just RTS ads. If I'm looking at Star Wars, then Sci-fi/space ads...

That's probably way too much to ask though lol.

Doesn't make a difference to me.  Whatever gets GB the most updates in the least amount of time.  I use AdBlock Plus, so I won't be affected.

Gaming news, rumours, gossip etc. I dont want to reveal too much yet, but Giantbomb will be hearing a lot of about in the coming weeks, i hope.

Like most people have said, games related. Whether it be consoles, computers, games, any of it really. Just no stupid dating sites, those piss me off. Anything with flash animation that slows down the loading of my page is annoying too. Like those pop out ads, ew..
