All Systems Goku Staring Jeff and ... ?

Honestly, it wouldn't even necessarily require Jeff be on it. Or that they watch Dragonball, for that matter. Goku as a character is more or less synonymous with anime, so a podcast called All Systems Goku could totally be about whatever show/movie they were interested in.

• Jeff/Vinny (assuming Dan's not available) watching OG Dragonball? Sure.
• Alex/Abby watching the works of Satoshi Kon? Cool.
• Ben/Jan watching Digimon Adventure? Why not?

Ben has some familiarity with OG Dragon Ball and has spoke highly of it whenever it comes up, and Jeff showed a lot of interest in it whenever they made callbacks to it in Kai. Ben would probably be the best fit for a future installment of the ASG, and original Dragon Ball is different enough from Z and Super as too bring in some fresh discussions and experiences, aside from GT which would just be dunking on it nonstop which may or may not actually be enjoyable.

Jan could also tag along with him being on the west coast. It all makes sense given them being in the same office.

Vinny and Alex would also be fun fits, but Vinny might be too familiar with the source or busy with his duties to devote time to it.

And while I would love to hear Alex’s take on this nonsense, he’s made it clear he prefers to appreciate the Dragonball franchise from a distance and not directly engage with any of it.

The best option of course is to find someway to rope Dan into this, but barring that, Ben makes the most sense, Vinny and Alex are the dream picks.

I'd love to see it revived as All Systems Gundam with Jeff finally checking out the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. As to who to partner with that one...I'm not entirely sure, I think Ben would probably be the default pick but maybe Jan?

I feel like a revival of an anime podcast would be best with maybe Jeff and Alex, but watching Jojo's. All the music references would play well with those two.

I like Jan’s anime energy, so he gets my vote.

If you’re going to recruit Rorie or Alex to an anime podcast, how about instead recruiting both of them back to a movie podcast?

How many premium accounts do I need to purchase for this one? I've been meaning to rewatch Digimon and this would be the ideal watch along with scenario.

Nuke the whole program, because everyone knows anime is bad for your health.

If it's keeping with dragon ball. Vinny is the answer.

If it's some other anime series I want the dark horse, Jan.

I do love the idea if trying to get Vinny to try watching anime especially if it's anything from the 90's or earlier. Though I think Jan or Ben would work far better in general.

Part of my love for the podcast was seeing two people experience the series for the first time. I think the only people who don't love Dragon Ball are Brad, Alex, and Abby.

I think one of the greatest draws was having two people that are unfamiliar with anime in general experience it for the first time, so Ben, Jan or Vinny are poor choices.

My vote would goes to Alex.

Brad would 100% be the straight man to Jeff's funny man. You can't have two funny men in a comedy duo that just doesn't work.

I don't care who does it, I just want the return of the only anime podcast.

While i think brad might not care at all for dragon ball z or super, im 80% sure he would really enjoy the original Dragon ball. it's such a different type of show. both more grounded in reality and way more silly. A Jeff and Brad Dragonball podcast would be amazing.

@bicycle_repairman: That’s a good point. OG Dragonball has wider potential appeal in that sense as opposed to Z and Super where if you don’t love the dumb action, there is significantly less to latch on and get attached too.

Dragonball’s heavier emphasis on adventure, comedy, and character writing are probably easier for people to get into that aren’t partial to the loud dumb action of the later series, as popular as said action is.

Dan, as far as I know he is still free to do podcasts. If they could somehow do it remotely again and it fits into his schedule of course. I dont' think it works with anybody else on the crew right now tbh, they all seem like anime fans. Especially Brad.
