bombblast@giantbomb.com or something? I wanna increase my odds.
Can we have an email alias that goes to both podcasts?
@doctortran: I AM A BUSY PERSON WITH MEMES TO POST
hot real talk- i'm kinda over email sections on all podcasts. it feels like a crutch and the really good quality emails (either thought-provoking or total bananas) are few and far between.

You mean you don't wanna hear 400 "What's better Doritos or Bananas LOL please answer Dan as you're a food guru?" e-mails a week

It's still better than bathroom related emails.
Maybe it's from 12 years of listening, but I'm so fucking over people looking for "Life advice" or "Food debates", when the writers are just looking for yes men
No one wants to hear someone's "clever" email on both podcasts. Ppl who send their questions to both Coasts are so lame.
Just... send to both?
NO PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!

Sometimes, rarely, you get a decent email or at least one that starts a decent discussion on the Bombcast, particularly when Jeff is on. Usually something industry related.
The Beastcast emails are all basically looking for round table answers and 9 times out of 10 the answers involve woodworking, drumming, hockey and wrestling. Usually something so generic you could email it off to any podcast ever and get an answer.
On this topic: this week’s Bombcast email section had I think 2 separate emails about pinball, and I would bet in the low hundreds of dollars that one or both of these emails also get selected for the Beastcast email section.
I’m not against people sending emails to both podcasts, but I do think Brad and Abby need to coordinate better on Slack or whatever to not overlap on email selection. It’s bad enough that some emails about some dumb “waffle fries vs. other fries” make it through at all, and I REALLY don’t need to hear 2 separate groups of people belabour it for 10 minutes each. Most user emails are barely an interesting discussion once, so I don’t think I’ve ever been pleased to hear a repeat email.
If you want to send your email to both podcasts:
- DON'T (it's very annoying to hear the same email on both)
- If you really must, then at least send it to one of them first... and if they don't pick in the next two episodes or something, only THEN send it to the other one.
EDIT: and I agree with @mellotronrules that the email sections of both podcasts are not very interesting, and I'd be fine with it if they only did en email section if they've received something they find interesting... instead of having this obligatory section in the podcast.
Yeah 99% of the emails fall under "would you rather..." or "what's your (least) favourite..." category. Just the most vacuous shit. not that it can't be entertaining occasionally.
@bisonhero: The taco bell question is 100% going to be on today's Beastcast.
@mrangryface: I’M SO SORRY, I DID NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR IMPORTANT MEMES!

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean it is also 100% spot-on!
Really though, I'll just echo the sentiment of wishing the coasts would coordinate a bit better to avoid reading the exact same emails - people are going to send to both if they want to, but it would be nice if the crews could prevent recycling the exact same discussions on both programs if possible.

counterpoint: they read an email on the beastcast today that was essentially "what is water?"
The worst part might be that I feel like that question was similar to something they talked about on Waypoint.
I’m going to guess there are definitely a handful of people who are not only submitting the same question to GB and GBE, but also submitting that question to other podcasts.
@chaser324: Agreed. I e-mail once in a while, but usually tailor it to one show or the other. Hearing the same e-mail on both shows always feels anticlimactic to me...
