Overview
The Hobo is a supporting character who appeared in the 2004 animation film the Polar Express, and the game adaptation of the same name. He is a ghostly spirit who first helps the Hero Boy go further along the train's carriages to find the Hero Girl and give her the missing ticket.
The Hobo is introduced as an inhabitant who lives on top of the Polar Express, playing the hurdy-gurdy whilst singing "Good King Wenceslas" as the Hero Boy comes towards him and asks if he has seen the Hero Girl recently. As they get to know each other, the Hobo asks the Hero Boy if he believes in Santa Claus, who says that he wants to believe but is mostly unsure. When the Hobo agrees to help the Hero Boy find the girl, he asks the boy if he believes in ghosts. After the Hero Boy shakes his head, the Hobo disappears for a few moments before returning to help the boy go further along the train's carriages to reach the engine.
