    Overview

    Lumas are the star-like species that first appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They live with Rosalina at the Comet Observatory. When they mature, they can transform to planets, galaxies, Power Stars, and other celestial bodies.

    Lumas consider Rosalina a mother figure love to read stories with her. Their favorite food is Star Bits.

    One particular Luma aids Mario in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 by giving him the ability to perform a spin attack. They have since made appearances in other titles.
