Tribe Networks, Inc. Pincus was a Co-Founder and one time CEO of this venture financed startup with Paul Martino and Valerie Syme. Tribe was a social networks site with a very open and permissive business model. It was described as the next generation of online classifieds Tribe partnered with major local newspapers and was backed by The Washington Post, and Knight Ridder Digital in addition to Mayfield Venture Capital. The core tribe assets were eventually sold to Cisco.
SupportSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPRT), Pincus Co-Founded and was the former Chairman and CEO of this publicly traded enterprise software company, formerly known as Support.com. A large number of companies and the leading broadband service providers rely on SupportSoft's software as their underlying infrastructure.

FreeLoader. Founded along with Sunil Paul in 1995 as the first web based push service. [Acquired after 7 months by Individual, Inc. for $38 million. Pincus' share was $8.5 million: a third in stock guaranteed at $18.50 a share, the rest in floating stock. ]
