Orbot (オーボット) is a secondary antagonist from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, making his debut in Sonic Unleashed. He is a circular-like robot who acts as Doctor Eggman's primary assistant, who continuously doubts his creator's high IQ. He is usually seen alongside Cubot, another robot created by Eggman, who is a bit less smart than Orbot himself. Cubot and Orbot both first appeared alongside each other in Sonic Colors, and have since made numerous and major appearances in recent Sonic the Hedgehog video games.

Orbot first appears in Sonic Unleashed, under the name SA-55. In the game, his red was replaced with white, and his blue eyes bing pink. He first served as Doctor Eggman's primary robot assistant, who usually made sandwiches for his boss and warned him of certain failure. However, it has been shown that Eggman does not take Orbot's advice, as significantly shown in Sonic Lost World, which usually leads to their demise. In addition, Orbot has been show to foreshadow events within Sonic the Hedgehog games, usually the end results for Eggman himself.
