As an southern Irish person (a country of literally 100's accents within a province) the faux Irish' film and game' accent drives me crackers. You get a lot of faux Northern accents too.
This is true. I can spot a fake Irish accent a mile away, and while I can't comment on her performance as a whole, Leonora is sporting a pretty terrible fake accent. Not quite Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman in "Far and Away" levels of terrible, but it's pretty grating. The worst fake Irish accents put too much emphasis on the "aar", "oi" and "aah" sounds, and it seems to be the standard technique used by dialect coaches, as it's almost ubiquitous across movies, TV, games, etc.
I believe almost everybody in this may be British, and the whole thing shot in the UK, seeing as Criterion is a UK development house. It may just be me, but most, if not all, of the actors look like their voices were dubbed in post.
