As a side note, that probably doesn't factor in your decision - I truly love the design of the S. I stand mine up vertically (sits snug on a simple stand I picked up online), and to me it reminds me of something Dieter Rams may have designed for Braun.
I use it as a Game Pass machine on a 60Hz 1440p monitor and it's been nothing but a treat. 4K gaming wasn't a factor for me, and I'm not much of a pixel peeper, so I haven't noticed any cases of sub par resolutions.
One thing I will note is that storage is an issue; but not a problem if you are willing to run an external drive and swap out games.
I'm not sure which country you are based, but a used 2DS is probably the way to go. Ruggedly built for kids, and I think the cheapest going on the used market.
A 2DS XL might be the next best upgrade from that in terms of low price; though I'm not a fan of the build quality.
I don't think I'll ever fill the Beastcast void; but that's okay; it was a great run by a great crew – I felt the same way when the Indoor Kids pod ended.
Might also be a good time to check out what Waypoint Plus has to offer.
For those of you who missed previous posts – Jeff briefly talked about future content in the latest Garage Talk 6 (last ten minutes or so).
Sounds like some changes will filter in over the coming months; as these things take time from a business perspective.
It certainly wouldn't hurt if Jeff did a brief write up of goings on, in a mailer or pinned forum post, rather than mention it in stream that not everyone has watched – that might stop some of the negativity here.
This all feels so sudden – not being able to hear Vinny bouncing off the others on weekly basis, is just the saddest thing.
Giant Bomb was critical for me pulling any sort of enjoyment out of last year, and I'll always be grateful to Brad, Alex and Vinny (as well as the the rest of the crew <3) for that. Wishing them all the very best.
